Tahko-Arena team is out for the final but longest stage
Girls managed to finish forth stage really fast and have had a few hours slept in next transition waiting leader teams arrival. Such “special” rule is in place at Portuguese XPD – once you are on a short course, you will have to wait first long-course team and start out of transition only afterwards. This has a lot of positive moments in it – it is an additional sleep time! Girls after their slept looks very well and headed to the last but the longest fifth stage ahead of leading teams. After trekking stage long kayaking stage, and teams have to transport their kayaks from TA to the paddling start about 1km by rough terrain – it takes 1 hour for some teams to do this! Girls were in head of everybody here – our support team provided them with wheel carts and they managed to be out in minutes. They are at 49km kayak stage, and once they will finish it, it will be “only” 44km MTB, 38km trekking, 75km MTB and final 24km trekking. You can follow Tahko-Arena team on ARWC 2009 website.
